Meet Our Master Healers

Maestro Francisco Huayta (Shipibo name Rheshimanhu "Beautiful Song of the Hummingbird") has a lifetime of experience in plant medicine. With 25 plant dietas, he comes from a powerful lineage of healers including his grandfather who was a muraya, the most masterful level of plant medicine workers. Already a respected leader in his community by the age of 35, he was called to the medicine after a snake bite nearly took his life. It should have killed him instantly, but he survived 8 months – long enough to cure himself. After this, he dedicated his life to the path of his ancestors, and as his reputation grew, members from the community began seeking him out. Adopted at a young age, he exudes kindness, wisdom, and belonging to all who come to this healing temple.

Maestra Maricela Rios Inuma (Shipibo name Inkanrina "Incan Princess of the Sun God") began her healing journey at the age of 13 when her grandfather gave her huayra caspi, completely curing her ails with menstruation. But it was when her first daughter was attacked by a brujo that she decided to become a healer. She has worked with 35 master plants – her greatest being noya rao and marosa. She brings a powerful, heart-centered feminine energy that grounds her medicine and ceremonies with compassion and fearlessness. Her effortless practice of deep care combined with unwavering discipline is a marvel, as is her fierce intelligence and intuition. Together she and Francisco are raising a family of maestros inspired to carry on their culture and integrity.

Maestra Mary Julliana Vasquez Rios (Sanken Wano "Visions of Deep Love") fell in love with the world of the plants at an early age when her grandparents opened her first dieta at the age of 8. Her icaros carry a brilliant range that are unmistakable in ceremony from a powerful tide of energy to a soothing lullaby. With her medicine partner Maestro Milan, Maestra Mary Julliana is a mother to three children and has dieted 50 master plants, including noya rao, marosa, piñon colorado, cedar, and niwe rao - her favorite. She has been serving medicine for 18 years. She currently spends most of her time working at Inin Nete with occasional residencies at Soltara Healing Center in Costa Rica.

Maestro Rober Vasquez Rios (Niwen Mane "Good Energy") has dieted 15 master plants in the past 18 years, including 2 year diets with both niwe rao and pumakiro, two powerful Amazonian protector trees. Watching his parents as a child, Maestro Rober always felt drawn to the medicine and began his journey as a teenager. After having profound experiences connecting him to cosmos and the world of the plants, he decided to become a maestro and cultivate his medicine. Like his Shipibo name suggests, Maestro Rober is a kind, ebullient spirit with a heart as open as a flower. He teams with Mary Julliana at Soltara when he is not serving pasajeros at Inin Nete, always with great love.

Maestro Gavino Vasquez Ochavano (Ronin Rawa "Powerful Warrior" was given his first plant at 5 years old to one day become a maestro, and he never stopped learning about the world of plant medicine. He currently has 11 diets (many which he has dieted multiple times), his favorites being quinxon and niwe rao, which he is currently in the midst of dieting for one year. He deeply embodies the divine masculine with a quietly stated yet fierce warrior energy and cures everything from trauma to dark spells. His medicine is very gentle, yet powerful with an attentive bedside manner that is at once serious and comes with a smile.

Maestra Vilga Majin (Inin Rabí "Pride of the Plants") began dieting at 23 years old after her first ceremony the year before. While her favorite plants are bobinsana and marusa, she has dieted many plants, including niwe rao, ayahuma, and piri piri. Her icaros and spirit come through in each ceremony with a loving, heart-centered guidance and care. With her husband Maestro Rober, she is raising her four children in the old ways of the Shipibo to continue on their lineage of healing and mastery of this art.

Maestro Milan Linares Urias (Isa Yui "Messenger of the Birds") has been dieting for 8 years with noya rao, niwe rao, marosa, and others. His beautiful medicine clears severe trauma with grace and intelligence. Each icaro is filled with great wisdom and gentleness, allowing each guest to relax into their connection with the medicine and all it seeks to heal and teach. At Inin Nete Maestro Milan and his wife Maestra Mary Julliana work together to offer the deepest healing for each pasajero.

Maestro Rony Majin Nicolas (Xawan Soy "Gentle Masculine") has dieted five plants. After his village's religion promised to cure his parents, he was disgusted by the charlatans preying on the sick and discovered plant medicine. He began dieting to heal his parents after seeing the truth of this path, but ultimately he was rejected by them until they passed on. For four years Maestro Rony has been apprenticing with Maestros Francisco and Maricela, determined to help others heal.

"The Shipibo family at Inin Nete made it feel like I was just joining their family for a week. All of the details showed their level of care - and their medicine is potent. You leave reborn."

★★★★★

"What really stood out to me was the quality of the healing, and how they hold themselves in relation to the medicine - from the preparation of the ceremony, to the ceremony itself, to the icaros."
